Welcome... To The 5th Element Podcast Network
At the beginning of 2018, I was starting to realise that once I graduate from University, my life would be different. The most prevalent change, as it pertains to this subject, is that I wouldn't have my University Radio show anymore.
For those that don't know, I hosted a student Radio show for two years, and I loved every minute of it. As it turns out, I enjoy talking as much as writing. (Well... Maybe not as much, but it's definitely a 1B to writing's 1A.) I knew that I wanted to find a way to continue talking, so I started to look into Podcasting. Unlike a Radio show, Podcasts are close to formless. There's no rules, (within reason) no time constraints, you can pretty much talk about whatever you want!
So, since June, I have been planning a Podcast Network to accompany the content that I write on this site. The first thing to figure out was what Podcasts to have. Of course, the site needed a podcast with the same letterhead, something that was an audio version of the site. A "5th Element Podcast" is coming.
I also wanted to bring back my student Radio show, which is the first thing on the list!
I'm always looking for show ideas, I don't want it to be just me. So if you always wanted to start one, here's a Podcast Network, rising from the ground that is a perfect place to cut your teeth. It doesn't have to be Hip-Hop centric, but it helps! E-Mail the site (firstname.lastname@example.org) or hit me up if you follow the site (or my personal) Social Media accounts.
I have been wanting to do this for a long time. Being a Podcast listener for many years, from American Sports, Politics, Comedy, Storytelling and of course Music, has taught me many things. Hopefully that translates into a genuine Podcast Network that has the most entertaining yet thoughtful content. That is the goal and once that is reached, then it's into the beyond. That is how confident I am in myself and the potential this site hold.
So. Without further delay, Welcome to the 5th Element Podcast Network! And I hope you enjoy the first episode of our first show, "What's Good?" W/Charlie Taylor.
